Oh the fun of talking with a two year old. The things that come out of his mouth crack me up many times. Here are some things that I remember.
We were outside sledding and Hudson was saying "on your mark, get set, GO!" He then stopped and turned to me and said "Mommy can you go get your mark"?
Hudson-"Can I tell you a story of an elephant?"
Mommy- "Yes, tell me a story about an elephant"
Hudson-"Once upon a time there was an elephant, a giraffe and a kitty cat. They ate apples. The elephant saw the happy balloon and played with the dump truck. The end"
At Christmas we were singing Away in the Manger. After we got to the part "The Little Lord Jesus Asleep on the Hay." Hudson asked if we could now sing about the Little Lord Jesus Awake.
Hudson does not understand that other words can describe him.
Hudson are you handsome? No I'm just Hudson!
When Hudson sings Jesus Love Me it sounds like the rally cry of the 2 year olds out there. "Little ones to him belong they are weak but WE are strong!!!"
Him singing the wise man built his house always cracks me up. "The wise built Man; house upon the rock" Today the song was about the wise building the man on the boat.
I have been trying to teach Hudson to say "No Thank you" when he doesn't want a food item I offer him instead of having a breakdown because he doesn't want it. (I tell you 2 years olds have rollercoaster emotions worse than a teenage girl!) He hasn't gotten it quite yet when "No Thank you" is to be used.
Mommy-Hudson please go pick up the pillows you put on the floor.
Hudson-"No Thank you"
Hudson in another conversation.
Hudson-Mommy are you a Hen?
Mommy-(Laughing) No are YOU a Hen?
Hudson-No Thank you
I made Chocolate Molten Cake for Valentine's Day. After Hudson ate his piece I asked if he was going to sleep tonight with all that Chocolate in him. His response. No Thank you. Thankfully he had no problems sleeping. :)
Hudson asks us and everyone he is around "What's your name?" This is a question we hear at home sometimes 156 times a day, at least it feels like it. We laugh because he usually says the person's name when he asks them. "Ryan what's your name?"
The usual question to me goes like this
Hudson-"Mommy what's your name?"
Mommy- "Mommy"
Hudson-"No you Holly, Right?" "People call you Holly; right?"
(Hudson has adopted the Canadian saying of "Right" )
Hudson asked me what my full name was. I told him and then asked him what his full name was. His response was "No I'm NOT a Full Name!" Ok.. 2 years old can be quite crazy sometimes; no reasoning about them!
Hudson's favorite sayings right now are "It's too hard" and "It's Dangerous"
The times he uses these saying are not alway appropriate so it is funny.
Hudson can you drink the rest of your milk? "No it is too dangerous!"
Hudson can you sing "Jesus Loves Me" "No it's too hard." (He sings Jesus Loves Me several times a day)
Hudson please finish your sandwich. "No it's too hard."
"Mommy My Paper Pins are Dangerous; right?" Talking about playing with the paper clips in the office
Hudson just asked me "Mommy can you sing Oh Canada?" Thanks to Christopher Barney for teaching him that. ;)
Hudson is potty training. I checked after a few hours to see if he was still dry. I cheered and said "yeah you are still dry!" Hudson said "I'm not wet though I'm just dry."
My favorite funny thing he said recently was said when this picture was taken.
His question was "Mommy does he have feet?"
He looks a little worried in the picture that maybe his baby brother only has a head and will grow the hands, feet and body later! :0

That is so funny, thanks for writting that down. Especialy I enjoyed the part about "no, thank you"
Noah sings "Jesus loves me" few time per day to, but in lithuanian.:)
Too cute. Noah and Hudson will have to get together.
Too cute :) Taylor also has a breakdown if I offer him something to eat that he doesn't want instead of shaking his head "no." But he does shake his head "no" when I ask him if he slept well, had fun, loves me, etc. And yes, they are SO emotional! :)
Hudson sounds so cute . . .I'm sure he and Ian would be great friends if we lived closer together. Your nursery looks so cute. We are in the process of getting Hailey and Ian's rooms ready in the new house. Ian is going to have a 'car' theme. The cowboy room sounds neat, too, can't wait to see pics of that.
I LOVE Hudson's comments!!! How FUN!! It's so good you're recording these memories now--in the future I'm sure you will look back with even greater fondness on these sweet moments. :-) Mara doesn't really talk yet--she's only 14 months, but already we're having funny moments--like when she's ready for a nap, and she says "Bye-bye" very matter-of-factly and waves to anyone who is at our house or in the room, so they will LEAVE and let her sleep! :-) Kids are constant entertainment!
Holly, I laughed out loud at Hudson's comments!
