Wild Edmonton

We have been enjoying the wildlife around here. Only 4 minutes from our house.
On our walk the other day the Chickadees were out in droves. They are fast little things and make a sound that sounds like their name. Hudson can impersonate them pretty well.

The squirrels were coming right up to us
Here is the beaver dam that I talk about later

Jesus loves the little squirrels???

We were walking by this tree and the squirrel decided to scold us. Hudson decided that he wanted to sing "Jesus Loves Me" to the squirrel.

The squirrel liked it so much he stopped his scolding and started doing a little jig.

I think Hudson is trying to "train" the squirrel here with his sticks. Jump squirrel jump...well the squirrel really only cared about the seeds he was eating.

Aahh..Fall

I LOVE Fall! We has such a nice one too. (yes had is the word as we are now into winter)
I made Crabapple Applesauce for the first time (no sugar needed)...YUMMY! Haddon & Hudson both loved it.

I just love all the colors Fall brings

8 & 9 Months Haddon

My computer has had many problems. It has a new hard drive now and many of my pictures are on the old hard drive. So that is why I haven't updated the month pictures of Haddon. I know I am missing a few months but at least I'll get these on.

Yes we think he will be the comedian of the family.

Proudly showing off his first tooth. He now has two!

It is always amazing to watch how much they grow in the first year. If you compare this picture with the one we have on here when Haddon came home from the hospital and Hudson was holding him in this chair it doesn't seem like just 9 months could do that.

The Beavers

The Beavers
We made a great little discovery a few weeks ago less than 5 minute drive from our house. There are these hiking trails and right off the start of the trail is this beaver dam with at least 6 beavers in it. So our fall fun was to go watch the beavers make their dam. If you want to see the beavers in the pictures better just double click on the picture and enlarge it. These beavers are huge! (about the size of medium size dogs) I haven't been able to get a picture of them out of the water although we have seen them dragging trees into the water.
This one was taking a small branch to put into its dam

There are actually 3 beavers in this picture. One is on the bank.

This is just the other side of the bridge. Pretty!

Beaver watchers. Hudson has enjoyed it. Although I'm not sure he realizes how cool it is. To him seeing a dog go down the street may be just as cool. His mommy has sure enjoyed "hunting" down the beavers to see them closer.

We were waiting here for some beavers to come up the embankment. They popped their head up out of the water, saw us and thought otherwise.
