Well the snow has all melted AGAIN. Hopefully for good.
Hudson had his friend Charity over and they had fun running around out back after our picnic.
Haddon is 4 months! Hard to believe. He "talks" up a storm and likes to make his big brother laugh. He is very happy most of the time even when big brother isn't!
A friend who worked in nursery with Haddon said that one Sunday all the babies were crying and she looked over at Haddon and he was just sleeping away in his carseat with a smile on his face. As if to say "com'on guys; just relax, kick back and sleep a little. Try it you'll like it!"
Conversations with Hudson
Anyone who knows Hudson knows that he loves to talk. Here are some of the things overheard.
"Your not a girl just a silly little boy Haddon"
"It's alright Haddon; don't cry Haddon" ( what Hudson tells Haddon each time he is crying; so sweet)
Hudson-"I'm tired"
Mommy- "you'll get a good nap today"
Hudson "I don't want to take a nap"
Mommy- "Oh naps are good Hudson!"
Hudson -"No they are not good"
Mommy- "yes they are"
Hudson- "No they are not good just yummy!" :)
"Can you tell me a verse about a zebra?"
Hudson telling Haddon his verses
"Hear instruction Haddon, Be Wise Haddon, And Refuse it NOT Haddon" (from Proverbs 8:33)
"This is a verse Haddon 'Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right Haddon!" (from Eph 6:1)
"Mommy Carrots are Beautiful!"
Hudson praying for breakfast one day
"Thank you for mommy's Bible & for mommy making my good pancakes. For Uncle Chad going bye-bye on a school bus. Amen! (Uncle Chad on a school bus makes it in every prayer :}
One day Hudson excitedly said "Look Mommy Look!" I am looking and looking. "What is it Hudson?" "It's the grass!!!" (we hadn't seen grass for quite sometime because of winter and the snow; I think he forgot we had grass in Canada)
Hudson telling us a story one day
"There was a zebra out in the snow. He didn't have boots on because he was too big. He started kicking the trees because he was so cold."
OK and one last "Mother's Heart Attack" Story
I don't know what it is about boys and the need to conquer everything. Many times it ends with that thing being destroyed. I had just finished decorating Hudson's room and hung everything on the walls. I told him before nap time to never touch the star hanging over his bed. We went through all that could happen if he did touch it. He seemed to understand. I never thought about the memory board over on the other wall. It is a good 4.5 feet off the ground and the bed isn't right up against it. He was quite as can be during nap time and I thought he was sleeping until I was trying to take a nap and heard something in there. I go in and the memory board is ripped off the wall and Hudson is taking all the button covers off and throwing them behind his bed. It is a cowboy theme room so his memory board that I made him has round red buttons and then cowboy button covers to go over top of them. Needless to say I was not happy that he had destroyed it! I then start looking at the memory board and noticed two of the round red buttons were missing. I asked Hudson where he put them? "I put them in my mouth and they are all gone." Surely he didn't swallow them. I looked everywhere and kept asking him what happened. Finally I realize he did swallow two dime sized shank buttons! So I am on the phone with the nurse to see if I need to do anything. We are still looking for them to come out. Thinking about him choking and I wouldn't even know because he was "taking a nap"! Only God can protect these little ones.
That evening we had our friend and the evangelist for the week Morris Gleiser over to our house. We were eating and talking so Hudson got in on the conversation. "Those buttons were hard to swallow Mr. Gleiser!" Brother Gleiser turned to Hudson "What was that Hudson?" I started laughing. I told him that Hudson had swallowed two buttons that day. Hudson then started to tell him all about it. True confessions of a two year old! You would think after swallowing one he wouldn't swallow the other. Go figure.
